Michael is the founding artistic producer of One Coast Collaboration, an annual new play development lab designed to build bridges between national playwrights and Seattle based theatre artists. OCC is in partnership with ACT Theatre on the ACT|One Festival of New Plays that supports the development of original plays each August in Seattle. In 2015, OCC paired up with the UW School of Drama for the Seattle Theatres: Lost and Founded series.
He is also the associate artistic director for Pacific Performance Project/East, a producing and training theatre company led by co-artistic directors and master teachers Robyn Hunt and Steve Pearson, with whom he has trained since 2002.
Michael was a co-artistic director of Yale Cabaret (Cab 44) along with Sunder Ganglani, Lileana Blain-Cruz, Kate Attwell and managing director Matt Gutshick.
Michael was a founding co-artistic director of Washington Ensemble Theatre (WET), with whom he produced over twenty productions, from 2004-2009 and continues to collaborate with the company.
